ABOUT

IMG_0463.jpeg

Carol is a mixed media textile artist who works predominantly in 3D, finding inspiration from her own family history both past and present. Some of the researched events that have shaped her family have been bittersweet, providing both enjoyment and sadness, although proving ultimately cathartic.

Working from her home studio in the Isle of Man she mixes unusual materials alongside her textiles processes to build three dimensional pieces especially using found objects and other recycled mediums such as paper.

Carol gained her City & Guilds award in Embroidery, parts one and two with the Isle of Man college, which encouraged her to study by distance learning with the Open College of the Arts and has since gained her BA (hons) in textiles from the University of The Creative Arts.
